Succession Planning
After twenty-five years of growing a successful specialty pharmaceutical
firm, the company’s owners wanted to start the process of
“passing the baton” to the next generation of company leaders. GGN was engaged to review the organization’s
strategy, organization, strengths and weaknesses, leadership and key personnel
in the context of the owner’s goals and objectives. We found the firm had considerable strength
in the areas of customer experience management, operational excellence and
marketing but lacked a clear succession strategy and had personnel “gaps” in key leadership areas. Our firm worked with the owners and managers
to fill the personnel gaps by getting the right people in the right
places. In addition, we continued to
work with, coach and mentor key managers helping them develop the skills needed
to move into leadership positions. With
the right team in place, we were able to develop an overall long-term strategy
for the firm, including an executable succession strategy and plan designed to
meet the owner goals.
